While world-class customer service ultimately defines the success of the Buckingham Branch Railroad, ownership and management believe strongly that successful customer service is only possible when built upon the foundation of an un-matched safety record. Accordingly, the Buckingham Branch has made the safety of the public, our employees and customers, and the safe handling of our customer’s freight, the railroad’s highest priority. The railroad’s safety accomplishments were recognized in March 2015 when the American Short Line and Regional Railroad Association chose the Buckingham Branch, among more than 400 short line railroads in America, to receive ASLRRA’s “Most Improved Safety Record” for the calendar year 2014.
The award was the culmination of a five-year effort by the Buckingham Branch that led to the railroad completing 2014 with no Federal Railroad Administration “reportable injuires,” one of the most important railroad industry safety measures. Safety is a paramount part of the Buckingham Branch Railroad culture that is reinforced daily throughout the company from the CEO to rail traffic control, safety inspectors, train crews, signal crews, track crews and maintenance personnel.
